スウェーデン現王政成立５００周年およびカール１６世グスタフ国王即位５０周年記念、そして駐日スウェーデン大使館改修事業開始を記念した、約１週間に亘る今年限りの特別なスウェーデンのナショナルデーへようこそ。
日本の城郭とスウェーデン建築の融合をモチーフにした、１９９１年の建設以来、神谷町の象徴的な外観を誇る駐日スウェーデン大使館の建物は今年の７月で以って一旦改修工事のために閉館し、数年後にオープンパブリックの機能を持った大使館として同地に生まれ変わります。
このような記念すべき今年のスウェーデン・ナショナルデーは、北欧への思いと実績をお持ちの演出家の小栗了氏に全面的なご協力を頂き、スウェーデンと日本、両国の過去から現在そして未来へと続くフットステップを巡る展覧会およびショーを開催いたします。
小栗了氏の手掛けたナショナルデーの展覧会をはじめ、普段は訪問することが限られているスウェーデン大使公邸内を巡り、そしてスウェーデン王室が来日した際の大使館晩餐会を再現したテーブルウェアを見学できるオープンハウスツアーです。

Welcome to Sweden's special national day for this year, which lasts about a week, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the establishment of the current Swedish monarchy, the 50th anniversary of the accession of King Carl XVI Gustav to the throne, and the start of a project to renovate the Swedish Embassy in Japan.
Built in 1991 and featuring a fusion of Japanese castles and Swedish architecture, Kamiyacho's iconic Swedish Embassy building will close for renovation work in July of this year and be reborn as an embassy with open-public functions a few years later.
On this memorable Swedish National Day, with the full cooperation of Mr. Ryo Oguri, a director/event producer who has a passion for Nordic and has achievements for producing stages, shows and exhibitions, we will present an exhibition and show on the footstep from past to present and future in Sweden and Japan.
During the week, an open house tour (pre-registration required) will be open to the public, including the exhibition by Mr. Oguri, a tour of the Swedish Ambassador's residence, which is usually a limited visit, and you can see the tableware setting that reproduces the Embassy banquet when the Swedish royal family visits Japan.

Assembling time: 14:15 Max. 25 people for each time slot.
